Description

Oreo Balls are an easy, no-bake dessert made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and a smooth chocolate coating. This simple recipe uses everyday ingredients and is perfect for make-ahead treats, freezer-friendly desserts, or quick sweets for gatherings and holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 38 Oreo cookies

  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

  • 1 cup chocolate melting wafers or candy coating

  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers or candy coating

  • For decorating: melted chocolate, Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, crushed peppermint, or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they are fine cookie crumbs with no large pieces remaining.

  2. In a stand mixer or a bowl using a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth, about 1 minute.

  3. Add the Oreo cookie crumbs to the cream cheese and mix until fully combined and uniform.

  4. Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet or tray lined with parchment paper or wax paper.

  5. Freeze the Oreo balls for 15 minutes to help them firm up.

  6. Place the chocolate melting wafers in one microwave-safe bowl and the white chocolate melting wafers in a separate microwave-safe bowl. Melt each according to package instructions, stirring until smooth.

  7. Remove the Oreo balls from the freezer. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, coating completely. Use a fork to lift and gently shake off excess chocolate.

  8. Dip half of the balls in chocolate and half in white chocolate. Place them back on the lined baking tray.

  9. While the coating is still wet, decorate with melted chocolate drizzle, Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, crushed peppermint, or chopped nuts if desired.

  10. Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour, or until fully set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to ensure a smooth mixture.

  • Freezing the balls before dipping makes them easier to coat and helps them keep their shape.

  • Store Oreo balls in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks in an airtight container.

  • Oreo balls can be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.

  • These treats are best served chilled and do not require reheating.
