Description
Honey Garlic Shrimp Bowls feature tender shrimp glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, served over rice or quinoa with broccoli. This balanced bowl is easy to prepare, perfect for healthy lunches, and ideal for meal prep during busy weeks.
Ingredients
-
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
¼ cup honey
-
¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
2 cups cooked white rice, brown rice, or quinoa
-
1 cup broccoli florets, steamed or sautéed
-
¼ cup green onions, finely sliced
-
Optional: sesame seeds or crushed red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
-
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer.
-
Cook the shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until they turn pink and curl slightly into a “C” shape.
-
Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Allow it to bubble gently and thicken for about 2 minutes, stirring carefully to coat all the shrimp evenly.
-
While the shrimp cook, steam or sauté the broccoli until bright green and fork-tender.
-
To assemble, divide the cooked rice or quinoa into bowls.
-
Top with the honey garlic shrimp and spoon extra sauce over the grain.
-
Add the broccoli and finish with sliced green onions and optional sesame seeds or red pepper flakes before serving.
Notes
-
Avoid overcooking the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
-
Medium heat helps the honey sauce thicken without burning.
-
These bowls work well for make-ahead lunches.
