heart-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a square or rectangular baking pan and set aside.
-
Melt the unsalted butter until fully liquefied but not hot.
-
Stir the granulated sugar into the melted butter until well combined.
-
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
-
Mix in the vanilla extract until evenly incorporated.
-
Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently until the batter is smooth and no dry streaks remain.
-
Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
-
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
-
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
-
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut heart shaped brownies from the cooled slab.
Notes
-
Cooling completely before cutting helps the brownies keep clean heart shapes.
-
Wipe the cookie cutter between cuts for neat edges.
-
Brownies should be soft and slightly fudgy in the center.
