Description
These cheesy garlic chicken wraps are a quick, comforting stovetop meal made with a creamy garlic chicken filling and melted cheddar wrapped in a golden tortilla. They’re easy to prepare, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights when you want something warm and filling without extra effort.
Ingredients
-
2 large tortillas, regular or low-carb/high-protein
-
7 oz cooked chicken, chopped
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
-
1 tablespoon light Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
-
2 teaspoons hot sauce like Frank’s
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
3 oz cheddar cheese, grated
-
1 green onion, chopped
-
Olive oil spray
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, minced garlic, light mayonnaise, yogurt, hot sauce, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed and creamy.
-
Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of grated cheddar cheese across the lower third of the tortilla.
-
Spoon roughly ⅔ cup of the chicken mixture over the cheese. Top with another tablespoon of cheese and a sprinkle of chopped green onion.
-
Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a wrap.
-
Repeat with the remaining tortilla and filling.
-
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and lightly spray with olive oil.
-
Place the wraps seam-side down in the pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden and crisp.
-
Flip the wraps, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for another 3–4 minutes until the second side is golden and the filling is heated through.
-
Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
-
Chop the chicken finely so the filling spreads evenly and the wraps roll easily.
-
Don’t overfill the tortillas to prevent splitting while cooking.
-
Covering the pan helps the cheese melt fully without burning the tortilla.
-
Best served fresh for the crispiest texture.
