This onion soup chicken crockpot recipe is an easy, hands-off family dinner made with tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in savory onion soup and topped with melted Swiss cheese. It’s comforting, simple, and perfect for busy days when you want dinner ready with minimal effort.
Ingredients

▢2 lb. chicken breast boneless skinless

▢1 cup onion sliced

▢10.5 oz can condensed French onion soup

▢1 oz onion soup mix

▢2–3 slices Swiss cheese sliced

▢French fried onions optional

▢Parsley optional
Instructions

Lightly spray the inside of an 8-quart slow cooker with nonstick spray.

Add the chicken breasts to the bottom of the slow cooker.

Layer the sliced onions evenly over the chicken.

Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the chicken and onions.

Pour the condensed French onion soup on top and gently stir to combine.

Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.

About 30 minutes before cooking is finished, sprinkle French fried onions over the chicken (if using) and place one slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.

Cover again and cook until the cheese is melted.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired before serving.
