Perfect for parties, holiday trays, or satisfying sweet cravings any day of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pretzel Crust

  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs (crushed pretzels)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the Caramel Layer

  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

For the Creamy Topping

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pretzel Crust
In a medium bowl, combine pretzel crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar.
Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish to create an even crust.

  • Layer the Caramel
Pour the caramel sauce over the crust and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Sprinkle sea salt over the caramel layer for a balanced sweet–salty flavor.
If the caramel is too thick, warm slightly to improve spreadability.

  • Make the Whipped Topping
In a large mixing bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
Continue whipping until stiff peaks form and the topping is fluffy and smooth.

  • Assemble the Bars
Spread the whipped cream topping over the caramel layer in an even layer.
Smooth the surface using a rubber spatula for a clean, polished finish.

  • Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Longer chilling produces cleaner slices and better texture.

  • Slice and Serve
Remove from the refrigerator and cut into squares.
Serve chilled for the creamiest, crunchiest texture.

Notes

    • Gluten-free pretzels work perfectly for a gluten-free version.

    • For a richer flavor, swirl peanut butter into the caramel layer.

    • Add mini pretzels or chocolate drizzle on top for extra crunch.

    • Store-bought caramel is convenient, but homemade caramel improves depth of flavor.

    • The bars slice more cleanly when chilled overnight.
