Description

A creamy shrimp pasta made with tender sautéed shrimp, garlic, Parmesan, and a smooth cream sauce. This elegant yet easy pasta is perfect for cozy dinners at home, romantic occasions, or special Valentine’s Day meals without complicated steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 8 ounces of pasta—choose spaghetti, fettuccine, or your favorite type.

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water, and set aside.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  4. Add the chicken broth and heavy cream to the skillet. Stir well and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

  5. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Stir in the Italian seasoning, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Use reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to adjust the sauce consistency.

  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes

  • Cook shrimp just until opaque to keep them tender.

  • Reserved pasta water helps the sauce cling smoothly to the pasta.

  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
