Description

These Healthy Greek Yogurt Bagels are soft, fluffy, high in protein, and low in calories—made with just a few simple ingredients and no yeast. Perfect for a quick breakfast, meal prep, or a light snack. Ready in minutes and customizable with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or self-rising flour)

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt, thick and strained

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • Optional: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, cinnamon sugar, or poppy seeds

Instructions

1. Mix the Dough
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the Greek yogurt and mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead gently for 1–2 minutes until smooth; lightly flour your hands if needed.

2. Shape the Bagels
Divide the dough into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a rope and connect the ends to form a bagel shape. Press gently to seal the ends.

3. Add Toppings
Brush the tops with water, egg wash, or a thin layer of Greek yogurt. Sprinkle with your preferred toppings such as everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds.

4. Bake or Air Fry
Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place bagels on a lined baking sheet and bake for 22–25 minutes until golden.
Air Fryer: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Air fry 10–12 minutes until lightly browned.

5. Cool and Serve
Transfer bagels to a cooling rack for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • If dough is too sticky, add flour 1 teaspoon at a time—avoid using too much to keep the bagels fluffy.

  • Full-fat or nonfat Greek yogurt both work, but thicker yogurt makes better structure.

  • For gluten-free bagels, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.

  • For sweeter bagels, add 1 teaspoon sugar and a splash of vanilla to the dough.
