Description

This Air Fryer Grilled Chicken delivers juicy, tender chicken breasts with lightly browned edges and classic grilled flavor. It’s a simple, healthy recipe that cooks quickly in the air fryer and works well for weeknight dinners, meal prep, or easy protein for balanced meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or oil of choice

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, or oregano

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • salt

  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly combined.

  3. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness if desired. Rub both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with the spice mixture.

  4. Place the seasoned chicken breasts into the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer.

  5. Cook for 10 minutes per side, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  6. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing or serving.

Notes

  • Pounding the chicken breasts helps ensure even cooking and prevents dry spots.

  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation.

  • Resting the chicken after cooking helps retain juices and improves texture.

  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on chicken thickness and air fryer model.
