Description
These air fryer chicken breasts are made for busy days when you need a fast, reliable meal. Boneless skinless chicken cutlets are lightly breaded or simply seasoned, then air fried until cooked through, tender, and flavorful with minimal effort.
Ingredients
-
2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, sliced into thin cutlets
-
1 tablespoon (15 ml) oil (olive oil, canola, or vegetable oil)
-
½ cup (25 g) dried bread crumbs
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
¼ teaspoon dried chili powder
-
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
-
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
-
¼ teaspoon onion powder
-
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
-
½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
-
Place the sliced chicken breasts in a bowl and drizzle with oil. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated on all sides.
-
In a shallow dish, combine the dried bread crumbs, paprika, dried chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix until well blended.
-
Coat each chicken cutlet in the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently so the crumbs adhere. Transfer the chicken to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
-
Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes. After 7 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the chicken, then continue cooking for about 3 more minutes depending on thickness.
-
Unbreaded version: Drizzle oil over the boneless skinless chicken breasts and season with your favorite seasonings. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through using kitchen tongs.
-
When cooking is complete, remove the chicken from the air fryer immediately to prevent drying out. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
-
Slicing the chicken into thin cutlets ensures fast and even cooking.
-
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so air can circulate properly.
-
Cooking time may vary slightly depending on chicken thickness and air fryer model.
-
Resting the chicken before serving helps keep it tender and juicy.
